Greatest MK endorsement for Bletchley Park
Bletchley Park was last night awarded two awards in the Milton Keynes Business Achievement Awards 2015 at a ceremony to celebrate the achievements and successes of the MK business community.
The first award for Bletchley Park was for the category of "Leisure and Entertainment" where the judges were looking for "evidence of contributing to generating leisure and sport tourism: providing entertainment to local and wider audiences; and how the business helps put MK on the map". They also wanted to see "evidence of a successful enterprise with strong and growing visitor numbers, financially sound and with robust plans in place for the future".
The second gong for Bletchley Park, and the highest accolade of the awards ceremony, was for "Business of the Year". Iain Standen, CEO of the Bletchley Park Trust, who received the awards, said, "We are thrilled and honoured to have received this endorsement of the significance and success of Bletchley Park as a pinnacle of the Milton Keynes business community. All of the people involved with supporting Bletchley Park, since the formation of the Trust, can be rightfully proud of their contribution in transforming this vitally important heritage site from a sad state of dereliction at the brink of its demise to what is today a vibrant heritage attraction that fascinates visitors from around the globe".
Dr Phillip Smith, Chairman of the organisation which runs MK Business Achievement Awards, Milton Keynes Business Leaders Partnership, said, "It was an outstanding evening that was very well-supported, and representative of the wide variety of businesses in Milton Keynes. Everyone was delighted to see Bletchley Park win the "Business of the Year" award".
