Join us at the Projected Picture Trust's Enigma Cinema for this year's Film Show.
The programme will be as follows:
Speed Up On Stirlings
Made for the Ministry of Information in 1942 at the Shorts Shadow Factory near Swindon, the film shows how an increase in production of the Stirling Bomber was achieved.
The story of a raid on a German Convoy is used to exemplify the offensive action by the Royal Airforce Coastal Command against enemy shipping.
An introductory film on the equipment and procedures for handling, take-off and landing on a British Aircraft Carrier.
15 minute interval
Directed by Pat Jackson this film, which took two years to make, depicts the perilous life led by merchant seamen. The film tells the story of a number of seamen lost in the Atlantic in a small lifeboat and of their rescue by a merchant ship. The realism of the film is enhanced by the acting of the cast, all of whom were serving officers and seamen, rather than professional actors.
Only 50 tickets are available in total and admission is not included in the season ticket price. Tickets cost £10 and must be booked and paid for in advance. Friends of Bletchley Park discounts apply. Mince pies and wine will be served in the interval.
