Booking a Guided Visit for 12-14 Year OldsDon't be disappointed! E-mail or phone us first to make sure that the day you want for your visit is available. We can make a provisional booking for you when you first contact us, but this must be supported by a completed Booking Form to reach us not less than 6 weeks before the visit date, otherwise your booking may be cancelled. We cater for groups of up to 30 pupils on this type of visit. Download a 12-14 Visit Booking Form ( Adobe Acrobat or MS Word), print it out, complete and mail to Education Department, Alternatively, fax it to 01908 274381, or e-mail it as an attachment to Vicki Bates at education@bletchleypark.org.uk. You can also request a Booking Form by phoning 01908 272664 or e-mailing us, and we will post one to you. We recommend that a member of staff, preferably the organizer, visits Bletchley Park at a weekend before their school trip. This is free of charge and is by prior arrangement with the Education Department (phone or e-mail us). Our staff will answer any questions you may have and help you to decide which displays best meet your group’s needs. On request, we can provide a Risk Assessment Report for prospective visitors to the Bletchley Park site. We reserve the right to make last-minute schedule changes should the need arise. PricesThe cost of a guided 12-14 Visit is £8.00 per pupil. Adults over and above the free allocation number will charged at £8.00 per person. Schools are invoiced after they visit. We ask groups originating from outside the UK to pay on the day of their visit. Please note:- A £50 late cancellation fee will be charged to groups who cancel 10 working days or less before their visit. Practical InformationSchool parties must be chaperoned by teachers or other responsible adults on the visit. The recommended ratio is 1 adult per 10 students. Students should be closely supervised at all times. We reserve the right to exclude groups from visiting on future occasions if circumstances warrant. Download and read detailed Health & Safety information and a Risk Assessment before you visit. Upon arrival your party is taken to the Education Suite where they may leave bags etc. during the day. (NB personal belongings are left at the owner’s risk.) Learning volunteers in the Schools Team can work with students of any age, and have been cleared by the Criminal Record Bureau to work with children. Outdoor walking is a necessary part of your visit. As Bletchley Park is a large, open site, please ensure your group comes with clothes and footwear suitable for walking in the weather conditions at the time of your visit. The specialist displays are located in various buildings within the grounds and are within a five-minute walk of the Education Suite. In order to get the most out of their visit, students need to have had some pre-visit classwork, discussion, film or video input relevant to codes & ciphers, Bletchley Park or WWII. Students should also bring clipboards, pens, pencils and paper as required - we cannot provide these. Visitors should bring packed lunches with them, which can be eaten in the Education Suite. Your coach will have free on-site parking, ready to collect your party at the end of the day. Directions on how to find us can be found here. |
