The Bungalow - scene of early computer research

The Bungalow

It was to the Leons' former apple, pear and plum store that some of the earliest recruits were sent to 'study' at the outbreak of war. Nicknamed the 'Bungalow' or 'Cottage', it became a 'think-tank' for early computer research by the country's top mathematicians, including Gordon Welchman, Alan Turing and Tommy Flowers.
